(Denon/Marantz) small LCD for OSD only monitoring?

I have my X4500H AVR installed in a tight location where the panel display can't be easily seen and am sometimes using it on TV Audio with no OSD shown on the TV.

Has anyone installed a second HDMI connected display just for displaying the OSD volume and control information?

I've seen 7" LCDs on Amazon for around $75 that have HDMI inputs and support 1080P resolution. Would it be possible to connect such a display to my X4500H and have it display the OSD info without having it display any other information?

Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier to just use either your mobile phone or a tablet with the Denon app for that? It would also have the advantage that it could be used as a remote control as well.

I don't think it's going to work out the way you're thinking. Your secondary display has to be as capable as the primary one if you want simultaneous output on both. Can you even route just the OSD to the 2nd monitor? I don't recall seeing an option like that in my X6500H.

I'm also very interested in this.

For my situation, I'd be just as pleased to have all video output going to the second screen. I'd like to have the OSD information from sources like Pandora without firing up my projector.

Yes a reading of the manual indicates that the secondary monito has to have the same capabilities as the primary one or the AVR will reduce the resolution , etc for both.

Wouldn't work in my room for reasons I won't go into.

Looks like this one is dead. Would be a neat feature though as it definitely has an application.

Likewise already using Hdmi out 1 &2. Thought could use zone 2 but apparently not. Nor can you use teh component RGB out.

On my old Pioneer AX10 I used a small 5" monitor off the composite.

Infocus SP8600 DLP, Denon AVC X8500H, Sony UBP X800 player, Kef 203/1 Main, 202C Center, Kef204ds Surround, HTS 2001 Rear Surround and FP, RP, 2x Kenwood SW-X1 12" Subs fitted DLS DS3004BP plate amps.
Vinyl - Technics SL1210, Reson Reca, Decca London Maroon, Denon 103R, Rotel RQ970BX Modified or EAR834P.
