My first amp, Whats the best Sub connection? Open to all suggestions. My equipment is in my signature. My Pioneer AVR has Main and sub preouts.

RCA cable from your Sub Out on the AVR to the SVS Sub. Adding the Outlaw doesn't change the sub at all.
Liquid$team and smithsabom like this.

7.1.4 Theater Room (In Progress): JVC-RS46U, Silver Ticket AT 2.35:1 142”, Onkyo RZ830, Anthem PVA-7, Panasonic DBT-110, JBL Studio 270’s, 4 - 15" DIY Sealed Subs

3.1 Living Room: Samsung 64” F8500 Plasma, Anthem MRX 300, Dynaudio Audience 52’s, Dynaudio Audience 122C, NHT SubOne

the PB1000 is a powered sub, you don't need the Outlaw to do anything for the subwoofer. Connect it to the sub output on your SC-81 receiver.

So if I use the sub output of my AVR wouldn't that stop my sub not having the 5000's sound quality signature?
Thoughts on using the PB 1000's high level inputs using speaker cable?

I mainly listen to 2 channel stereo music. Not really into home theater.

That is not how it works. The sub has a built in amp. That amp can provide more power to it than the 5000 can. You need to hook it up the way others suggested and calibrate it. Having the proper positioning and levels and other room corrections is more important.

Ok I guess I will give it a shot. I am also considering the Dirac Live upgrade for my Mini DSP.

Have you considered getting a nad T758 v3 received. It gives you all the latest home theater features and Dirac?

I considered the Nad , but always thought my Elacs were a little underpowered, so I went with the Outlaw.I f it does not work out the Nad would probably be my second choice.

You would still be utilizing the power of the Outlaw if you purchase a NAD. Use the preamp outs on the NAD to the Outlaw & connect all 5 speakers to the Outlaw. You would have the benefits of Dirac with the NAD.

Also remember that good quality amps don't have a "sound quality signature". They should be accurate and 100% neutral with no artificial coloration of the sound, except for folks that spend a fortune on tube amps that have a lot of distortion in order to have inaccurate sound.

Finally got my 5000 today. I probably should have gotten a amp sooner because I have to say it really brings more muscle and satisfying feeling to my modest system. Much more dynamic.
I kind of wish I would have just ordered it through Amazon. It made it all the way to Florida in a few days , but ended up bouncing around Central Florida for 6 days. I sure hope it wasn't banged up. You could tell the box had some miles on it. I actually had to take an additional day off work because Fedex missed my delivery date. Even after emailing, and calling me telling me to stay home Tuesday.
Outlaw pretty much said I am on my own. I just think after a $56.00 shipping charge I could expect more. I don't think I ever spent $56.00 to ship anything. I really think if I would had just ordered through Amazon, they would had made sure this nonsense would had been dealt with in a better way.
Anyway it's here, and so far so good.

My 5000 came last Friday, the double box and heavy foam packing from Outlaw was nice. I also agree, The sound is much more dynamic and detailed in my system, there is more clarity and a crispness in the highs, and punch in the lows.

The 5000 runs cool to the touch even after heavy use for a few hours, well worth the price!!

Looking forward to your thoughts once it’s hooked up!

Well the first day I had it it seemed like the sound was a bit warm. Maybe that's just analog? Or maybe that's the difference coming from a class D in the Pioneer, to the class AB in the 5000. Today is seemed even warmer. I ordered a set of Audioquest interconnects, maybe that will make things a bit crisper. I prefer a crisper sound. I really enjoy the power. I wasn't expecting movie audio to be so dynamic, which was a pleasant surprise. I am considering auditioning a NAD T 758 V3. Maybe I could still get the benefit of a AB amp and a little xtra power without needing the 5000? We will see how the 5000 behaves in the next week or two.
