Onkyo TX-NR676

I'm thinking of buying the TX-NR676. It's now down to $229 and seems like a good deal. Is there any reason I should rethink this? I would appreciate any opinions on this unit as well as any alternatives.

For that price it seems hard to go wrong.

It's a great deal if it has all the features you need. It has decent power (specs are exaggerated) so will easily drive most any setup at moderate levels.

If you constantly crank it up to 11 or running 4ohm speakers, it may be wise to get an AVR with pre-outs which would allow you to add an external amp.

Kef LS50,Q200C, Q100, SVS SB-2000, Denon AVR-X3400H, NAD 216, Panasonic 50" Plasma, Xbox One.
Bedroom: Kef Q100 ,JBL Loft 20, Bic F-12, Denon AVR-S710W, PS3, 32" Insigna LED.

@AndyMayfield yea as Noel said, good 7 channel receiver at that price. It is similar to the newer 686 just missing a few features that you might not even need.

Look at the dedicated thread for more reviews and tips

I have had the Onkyo NR676 for a year and have several problems. One it will not reset to factory defaults, the other is - it goes into diagnostic mode and gets stuck there. Had to unhook it and send it in for service.
