Denon S540bt - audio cut out issue

Hello,

Today I went to best buy and purchased two ELAC debut 2.0 b6.2 speakers and a Denon avr-S540bt for my living room. I love the ELAC speakers but I'm already have trouble with the Denon. At first it seemed nice after pairing bluetooth, etc. However, as I'm watching more tv the sound is now cutting out at the beginning of every program change (each commercial, when main program comes back on, etc) plus it's cutting out at other random times. Did I get a bad unit or is this common? I'm thinking I should return this and get something else.

Does anyone have a better recommendation in the $200-$300 range? I'm only looking to do a 2.0 and eventually a 2.1. I just want to watch movies and sometimes bluetooth music. Basically, I want an avr where the sound is consistent and doesn't cut out every few minutes.

Thanks

Known problem with Denon AVRs, seems like an error in their firmware...
The DSP has to identify the stream and load the appropriate decoding algorithm, the programmer was too conservative time needs shortening...

Just my $0.02...

Most likely a defective unit as this is not a known issue.

Also note, the S540BT is discussed in the 2018 Denon AVR Owner's thread --> https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-re...sts-1-8-a.html

Refer to post 5 in that thread and do a microprocessor reset. If still no joy, replace the unit.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try.
