2 channel amp for 7.2 receiver

what 2 channel amp do you recommend for a 7.2 receiver (i.e. denon 4300) to power 9 channels (5.1.4)

Anything cheap, doubtful you’ll hear a difference in a theater setup and being used to power Atmos channels.

Craigslist is a good place to look.

Leave it at 8 ohms and call it a day :)

???

The Denon AVR-X4300H has 9 amps, and will do 5.1.4 without any external amplifiers.

It processes 11 channels, so if you want to do 7.1.4, you'd need the external stereo amp.

Examples: Audiosource AMP100VS, Audiosource AD1002, Dayton APA102BT. The AMP100VS is class A/B, the other two are class D. All three have the 12V switch that I'd recommend, which allows the AVR to turn on the external amp automatically.

All there would be adequate to drive the rear Atmos speakers. (The 4300 gives you two choices as to which speakers don't use its internal amps: the LR fronts, or the rear heights.)

There are more elegant choices, at higher cost. Example: Emotiva BasX A-100.

the class D amps work great, and don't generate much heat, for surround or atmos duty. they also have an "auto on" feature ( just like most sub woofers) turns itself on when it senses a signal. turns itself off after a period of in activity.
