Lab Gruppen PDX3000

https://www.labgruppen.com/Categorie...DX3000/p/P0CBT

I have to admit this new amplifier looks interesting, both in feature set and specifications.

Edit: Preliminary MSRP: $899 (found it on their facebook)

Class-D

Max Output Power
All channels driven
2 Ω per channel: 1000 W
4 Ω per channel: 1500 W
8 Ω per channel: 800 W
Peak output current per channel: 32 A
Power consumption @ 4 ohms, rated power: 1050 W

Inputs/link 2x XLR and 2x ¼" TRS

Delay: 0 – 300 ms
Crossover function: 3 filter types, up to 48dB/oct.
8-band parametric, 2-band dynamic equalizer
Zero attack limiter (peak)
20 total presets, 19 user-definable

Release date: December

Could have been relevant for when I buy some Crowson tactile transducers, if it weren't for the price it will probably have.

Edit: I have added a few more power specifications. Hopefully we can get more data at some point from either Lab Gruppen themselves or from someone, like audio science review, testing it after it has been released so we can get a more realistic view of what it can do.

Edit 2: A Preliminary MSRP $899 explains why they state the power in the way they do (max). But at least the price is much lower than anticipated.
noah katz likes this.

Audio Gear: Sennheiser HD 800 & HD 650, SPL Phonitor, Abrahamsen V6.0 DAC, JBL 705Ps, Dual VNF Arendal 1723 Subwoofer 1.

Lab Gruppen has long been a top rated amp in the pro touring circuit.

Thanx for the additional specs but they still don't answer my (2) basic questions...
@ the rated power of 1500W/Channel.
1. What is the Max THD %,@ 20Hz and 20kHz?
2. What is its Power Bandwidth, 20Hz and 20kHz?

Just my $0.02...

I don't know about you, but I would never actually try to run any amplifier at the max rated wattage, so if "THD+N @ 1kHz, 1 dB below clip < 0.1%" and "Frequency response 10 Hz to 20 kHz, +0.5/ -1 dB" isn't enough detail, you'll have to ask Lab Gruppen. But I guess I also wonder about the power at 20hz.

When specing out a pro-audio power amplifier, it is crucial to know what the amplifier can deliver @ each frequency extreme including 20Hz....
Specing power output only @1kHz provides little information about its low end bass capability, as it is the easiest frequency for an amplifier to output...
However in North America, and I am sure it is the same situation in Europe the market is sales driven and is most impressed by maximum power output regardless of THD%, power bandwidth or load impedance.
We will contact Lab Gruppen for more info, thanx for the update...

Just my $0.02...

How can the maximum power consumption at rated output into 4 ohmsbe just over 1kW? (Quick start guide) it's supposed to give 1.5kW into 4ohms, so where's the missing 2kW (2channels at 1.5kW each)

I've added a little bit more to the first post, including a new youtube video from Lab Gruppen and MSRP. Perhaps we could get some answers there (through the comment section) or on their other social media.

Audio Gear: Sennheiser HD 800 & HD 650, SPL Phonitor, Abrahamsen V6.0 DAC, JBL 705Ps, Dual VNF Arendal 1723 Subwoofer 1.

This post might shed some light on this: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/f...13#post-212139. It's about Crown, but it's likely the same principle.

Lab Gruppen is no joke, they get used in some of the best installed systems in the world. This is a baby amp by their usual standards, I don't think I've seen much of anything from them under 2 grand before.

True. The FP series are serious nail drivers.
