Home Ambient Audio... Receiver or Amp?

Hello guys,

Looking into installing in ceiling speakers in an area of the house which is pretty big...around 4,000 sqft which is the dining room, living room (no tv) and kitchen...

Ceiling height is about 25 feet.

My options are receiver or a separate amp and streamer... receiver would be around 80 watts or so per channel there will be six relatively large speakers...

Stand alone amp could work also, but its more expensive and complicated... wondering if the power of a midgrade receiver is fine or should I be looking into 200 watts per channel separate amps.

Use mainly ambient but parties get crazy sometimes.

Thanks!
JC
