Thumbs up Useful Dolby Atmos Test file I Created 5.1.4

Hi

I edited the original 5.1.4 Atmos test tones from the Dolby demo BD. Made each pink noise burst shorter instead of the original 1 minute long bursts, then I looped the video 5 times and re-encoded it into HEVC MKV.

Download link:

http://bit.do/DA514

I will later create 5.1.2 and 5.1.6 as well as 7.1.6 test files. I'm also working on my own atmos test files.

Enjoy

Thanks.

Dumb question, but that Dolby test at 85dB or 75dB?

I did not alter the original loudness in any way. So whatever was on the original Dolby demo disk, remains the same. It does not state the target SPL...

Is there any test tone you can share for just 5.1? I'm not there on Atmos yet but would love to verify my Audyssey calibration.

Hi! Thanks for the file! Great for adjusting the channels of my LG SL10YG soundbar, including the rear speakers. Do you have the 7.1 version of it? Either the original or one you created? Wasn't able to test the side firing surrounds of my soundbar with a 5.1.4 file, as only a 7.1 file seems to bring those into play. Thanks!

Might you be able to create a 9.1.4 version?

The file should work just as good for 5.1, only difference is when it's playing the overhead channels it will be silent on your system.

I downloaded this & copied to my USB stick and tried playing it from my Bluray player but it says file corrupted or not supported.
Any idea please?

Old blu-ray players do not support hevc encoding. Only those that support 4k hdr blurays will work. Use any other media player with 4k support or use kodi on a desktop pc.

Thanks. I think this explains all. My Bluray player is Sony BDP-S5200 & does not seem to support 4K.
Can i try playing this in my USB connected to my Receiver (Yamaha RX-A780) directly?

No. Receivers do not support playback of video files. I'll recommend getting either an Apple TV 4k or Nvidia shield TV. The later will play any 4k blueray via Kodi

I just played it on my laptop and plugged the HDMI cable into my soundbar and it worked perfect. It also worked on a USB drive plugged directly into my LG 4K TV over ARC to my soundbar.
