NAD D3045 running hot?
So I just bought a refurbished NAD D3045 and set it up a couple of days ago. I've noticed that the amp stays warm to the touch even when it's "off" (standby mode), and after playing music for about half an hour it gets fairly hot. I normally wouldn't have thought much of it, but before I bought it I read several reviews that specifically pointed out how cool running it is.
Does this sound like an issue? I've got 30 days to return it.
First thing I'd check is whether the original piece was rated for where you live.
If they had brought a piece in from another country and replaced the power section with something that isn't taking in the right voltage (like some volts more etc.), that might account for the heat.
