Trustworthy Marantz repair facility?

My 7702MkII has failed.

No video, so likely a bad HDMI board at minimum.

I can change inputs and volume but can't get into the menus via remote or front panel, which wouldn't seem to be HDMI related.

All of the authorized (but I guess that's not necessary when it's out of warranty) repair shops in CA get too many 1-star reviews for it not to seem like I'm rolling the dice.

Any recommendations?

Noah

1. Have you performed a microprocessor reset to try and resolve the issue (p. 314 Owner's manual)? Oops, just realized you posted you had done this in the Owner's thread.

2. Although the 3 year Marantz warranty has expired, if you purchased it with a credit card, many cards provide a free extended warranty benefit of 1-2 additional years so check with your credit card issuer to see if the card covers the repair/replacement.

3. Otherwise, the quickest repair turn around times are generally realized by shipping to the factory repair facility: United Radio, Syracuse, NY. I recall one member a few years ago shipped his AVR to United Radio from California on a Monday via UPS Ground (5 day transit time) and received it back Friday of the following week.

I'm good, my credit card covers the repair.

Ah, United Radio, now I remember.

Thanks, jd.
