Bought new receiver, but may not need it. Advice?

Long story short, I didn't know there was a menu option to enable 4:4:4 60hz on my old receiver. So I bought a new one that was on sale. I quickly realized there was an HDMI setting option and I I appear to be getting 4k HDR 60hz passthrough on my old unit as well.

My question is, should I return the new receiver or keep it?

Old receiver: Pioneer VSX-530-K

New Receiver: Sony STR-DH590

I paid $170 for the new sony and I think I paid the same for the pioneer years ago. I can always sell the pioneer and recoup the money, but that may not be worth it. They seem very close and the pioneer appears to have more features. But I wonder if I am missing something.

I honestly don't know much about receivers and would love some advice.

If you're doubting yourself, just return it while you still can. Especially if you're happy with your current receiver. If you feel the itch later, then upgrade. If you got it on sale once, it will go on sale again.

For $170 I would try the new receiver for awhile to see how you like it. I went from an Emotiva UMC-1 processor to their MC-700 processor. The UMC had more features and appeared to be a more professional unit, but the sound and surround processing from the MC-700 was head and shoulders above the UMC. I've had a Sony ES receiver and they put a lot of tecjh in them.
