Marantz SR7012 and H/K Signature 2.1 power amp (Good idé?)

Hi,

Do you guys think this is a hit?
Can i get better sound if i buy this old H/K power amp and connect it to my Marantz.
A friend of is going to sell it and im intressting in what u guys think. Can i ger more power/clarity to my speaker if i hook it up.

Thankful for tips and thought

Hi ,

I have sonus Faber venere 1.5 front and center.

You know how this hobby is, you always Whant to test new things to see if it sounds better. What do you think.
Can i get more ”umph ” in the speakers?

It would depend how loud you listen and the sensitivity of your speakers. More power means you have more in the reserve to drive them distortion free and cleanly, but hard to tell if you will need that power and if you will tell a difference. One way to find out

The SR7012 provides 125W into 2CH whereas the H/K amp is only 100W so adding it to a 3 speaker setup is not likely to make any difference unless you are currently hearing distortion at your desired listening volume and then only to take a load off the SR7012 or use it to expand to an 11 speaker Atmos setup.

I have up and running now, and didnt expect much.
But i was wrong, the Marantz is an awesome machine but the HK did something to the sound. Its hard to explain, my Wife even notice 🙂
The sound its a little deeper a little clearer and as a friend said. Its like someone took alway a drape from the speakers.
Its a new sound that i like.
