Pioneer Receiver vsx 823 Dolby Atmos

Hi,
I am having Pioneer Receiver model vsx 823. When I am trying to play Dolby Atmos I am only getting grr.... sound. Is there a way to update my firmware to support Dolby Atmos.

You get what sound?

Looks like your AVR is DD+ compatible and dolby trueHD also so atmos tracks should play as either one of those depending on source streaming or blu-ray)

With only 5.1 you will never get full decoded Atmos but you wont miss anything, everything will be in the channels you have.

this is a 2013-14 receiver and only 5.1 so you're never going to get Dolby Atmos from it.

You're get TrueHD or Dolby Digital Plus which is all you can expect.

How are you trying to play Dolby Atmos when the receiver isn't capable of handling it? What's the source? Is it Blu Ray?

Does it work with TrueHD or DD+?

I am not sure if it is Dolby Atmos. Any video from Amazon Prime is not working. If I convert the same in Wondershare Uniconverter it is working fine.

Never heard of Wondershare Uniconverter. Not familiar with whatever it is.

What's the source? Roku, Apple TV, gaming machine, PC, other?

I am using Amazon Prime and Netflix. I am not sure if it is a problem with EAC3 audio encoding.
