Did you buy it used? How do you know it wasn't defective when you purchased it?

What sources are you trying with it?

What speakers? Are they connected properly?

Here is a link to the manual if you don't have one.

According to the manual on page 7, If the sound is unnatural and lacks bass, the speaker polarity is incorrect.

Yeah that could be.
- Play something with consistent bass, and preferably mono like ancient Elvis or Bill Haley or "The Rolling Stones in Mono" or Dylan's "The Original Mono Recordings" etc. Or a mono brown noise signal from YouTooooob.
- Power down, disconnect one speaker, play again. If the bass is louder, the speakers are out-of-phase and the polarity needs to be switched on one.
OP did you change/move anything at the same time you connected the receiver?

How do you have your subwoofer connected? That receiver doesn't have a dedicated sub output.

What subwoofer do you have?
