Broken link, but no - you don't want to use the balanced input on the 2200 in that scenario.

Well, I just bit the bullet and bought a model 5000. I'm hoping I made the right choice of amp for my set up. I'm a total newbie and have to say I was frustrated as hell trying to figure out what amp to purchase. I didn't want to go overboard and overspend on a powerful amp I don't need. However, I also didn't want a cheap amp that wouldn't make a difference.

I have a Denon x3400h for my avr. It's hooked up to a pair of klipsch rp-280f speakers. My center channel is a rp-600c ( I wanted to buy a rp-450c for my center channel but had to compromise due to space constraints). My sub is a svs sb4000. I still have yet to buy my 2 surround and 2 atmos speakers. Looking to complete a 5.1.2 set up in the near future. Since the klipsch speakers I already have come with a pretty high sensitivity rating, I'm hoping the outlaw amp will provide a nice punch to my speakers. This is all set up in my living room and center listening position is roughly 10 feet away from my front L & R speakers and about 7 feet from my center channel.

I'm looking to hook up my L, R, C, and 2 surround speakers directly to the amp. I'll then eventually use the x3400h to power the 2 atmos speakers in my ceiling when I get them. Hopefully I made the right call on going with the model 5000 for my amp.

The only real weak link is the receiver and it's limitation of 2 overheads. You really need a minimum of 4 to start getting better overhead action when it does occur. Just a stereo overhead pair won't allow for much in the way of object panning potential. FYI

Listen up, studios! Dolby Atmos Lite™ print-outs must stop!!

I would love to do 4 overheads but my budget won't allow for it unfortunately. I've got a medium sized living room and the 2 overhead speakers will be pretty much directly over my seating area. In the future I may upgrade my avr to add more overhead speakers, but for now, I'll have to do my best with what I've got to work with. I went from a cheap 3.1 LG home theater in a box system to what I have now. This new set up is drastically better than what I was working with before and I don't even have the ceiling or surround speakers yet. Whenever I get the chance to finish my basement, that's when I'll go the extra mile and spend on a better set up. For now, I'm planning on adding 2 klipsch pro 180rpc's to the ceiling and probably a pair of klipsch 5502 -W II in walls for my surround. Hopefully I'll be happy with everything after it's bought and installed. If not, I'll start putting some coin aside to upgrade my avr.

Does anyone know if you can safely stack three monoblocks on top of each other? Wish the company would come out with a way for them to plug into each other so you only needed one outlet but I'm sure that's probably not a very sound electrical situation.

I stacked 4 of the 2200 monoblocks on each other for my presence channels with my AVP for years before I replaced them with a 7700. Currently I am using two of them as the front L&R channels with my 3080 system and they are stacked. I'm not saying you should do it, but it worked ok for me.

Ordered the promo for (3) 2200 for $799 and received 2 yesterday, FedEx dropped the ball on the 3rd.

Waiting to install my Atmos speakers this week and will fire them up for the front 3.

If I were to buy the outlaw 5000 amplifier but only use three channels(left-right-center),would I get close to 200 watts per channel since I was not using 2 channels?

Most likely especially if your speakers are nominally four ohms.

So far so good for how the unit sounds, I typically use Dirac for most of my listening but I'm really enjoying the amp so far, the only issue I am having is the trigger input is not working from any of my 4 trigger outputs on my XMC-1, I previously had two UPA-1's and a UPA-700 that triggered fine and an ERC-3 so I'm thinking it's the amp that is the issue, I have the rear rocker switch set to trigger and then front power button pressed but when I start my XMC-1 the 7000x will not power up, also when in this mode if I adjust the volume or press any buttons on the remote or front panel the front blue power ring on the 7000x blinks slightly, guessing I will need to call them tomorrow ughhh. Otherwise the sounds quality is outstanding.

Just ordered 3 * 2200 bundle for my LCR. I have a Yamaha Avantage 1060 AVR, speakers are all Klipsch RP280F, RP450C. I hope these 2200's will play nice with my AVR and speakers. Looking forward to having them.

You may have to raise your speaker trim levels unless Yamaha has fixed the low pre-amp signal levels on their latest receivers.

I am running 2 of them currently with my 3080. Prior the 3080 I was using a 3070 in the same configuration. I actually own 4 2200s and originally used them with a RX-Z11 and then a CX-A5000. Never had any trouble driving them.

Good little amps, I'm very pleased.
Curiosity, why did you change from the CX-A5000 to the RX-A3080?

I didn't. The 3080 is in my den and I currently have a CX-A5200 in my living room which is my HT room these days. I used to use 4 2200s in my living room system with an RX-Z11 that I had at the time. I replaced the Z11 with the 5000 and then the 5000 with a 5100 and then I replaced it with a 5200. I think it was when I was using the 5000 that I replaced the 4 2200s with a 7700. That freed up the 2200s and I eventually starting using two of them for the L&R front channels in the den system. Just a bit of upgradeitus going on over the years it would seem.

I get it, been there done that. I've been very happy with my system, to the point of not feeling the need to upgrade.
Well, I am thinking about a new TV, but that's off topic

They are here.. and awesome!!!

Finally received my 3 * 2200 today. Installed them, in my setup, and they sound AWESOME!!! My Niles SI2150 that was doing LR before has now moved to surround. The Outlaw LCR sounds silky smooth and warm. I can tell the difference from the Niles SI2150. These Outlaw units are quite heavy, and the build quality is top notch. The audio is clean, no hum of any sort. The only quirkiness I noticed was, in standby mode, each front LED had a different shade, light yellow, amber and yellowish green , no issues at all. Haven't run them long enough to see if they get too warm. Will update once test them longer. Thanks for everyone who answered my question, helped a lot in my decision making.

Yeah, that's the only issue with mine as well. Of the 5, 4 are amber and 1 yellowish green. One day, if I ever have the time, I'll swap the LED's out for something more consistent...

thinking of adding amp to my set 5.2.4 to run my deftech 9060 and Cs9060, i was thinking of getting 5000, or 7000x for future proofing, or should i get the 2200 three of them, new to this topic. my AVR can drive the atmos, or i use all channels if i get the 7 channel.
need some advise what is the best options or other brands, want to keep price under or close to 1K. there is limitation on the size as there is limited space to place amp. these are very heavy when i went through specs.

SONY 75X900F: Oppo UDP-203: DirecTv 4K: ATV4K
Marantz SR6013: Parasound 2250 V2: Aircom T8: Dolby Atmos 5.2.4

Subwoofer Paradigm X12: Belkin PF30: Panamax M8-AV Pro
Harmony Elite Remote: Philips Hue Ambient Lights: 6500K Bias LED Lights

I would get the trio of 2200 monoblocks based on what you mentioned:

lightweight
compact

flexible configurations
solid measurements
stackable

$800 when on sale (not sure if it's still running)

Audio: Audiocontrol Maestro M5 | Parasound A21 | Parasound A51 | Parasound 275
Video: Optoma P1 | LG 65E6P | Panasonic UB9000 | Oppo 203 |
Speakers: Martin Logan 60XT & 50XT| Motion 4| FX2s
| Dual SVS PB16 | Dual SVS SB3000
