I think I don't have a choice to move the fronts wider as I am limited with the width of the front wall, 9.5'. To achieve a 30° separation for the fronts, I need to push the MLP to the front by 2.0' therefore I will be too close to the TV, 6.5'. I am currently OK with the fronts and I really enjoy when listening to musics on 2.1, I really get a good sound staging with the current placement.
As you suggested the 45° front and back I believe is a good decision bearing in mind the dispersion capability of the speakers, which I am not sure about it, and from which I read that it will impact the Atmos effects.
However, my main concern is the in-ceiling speakers vs height speakers positions options. As you can see from the attached,
Option No. 1, in case of in-ceiling setup, the speakers will be placed inside the deeper ceiling, do you think the sound will be disrupted with the walls of the dropped ceiling, the depth of the deeper ceiling is about 4"?
Option No. 2, how about the idea of placing the Height Speakers on Wall angled to MLP? Will I get the Atmos near real effects? With this option, I will save my ceiling from 4 big holes, in addition, I can move the speakers freely, and I can get the same brand of the other speakers.
What do you suggest?
