CD Player and USB

Hello

I have a DAP (Fiio X5ii) that can be used as a DAC for my computer.
I'm wondering if I could also use it connected to my Marantz C5003 CD Player?

The DAP has a coaxial output but I assume the only way to get the digital signal into the DAP is through the USB cable.

So I'm wondering if there's a USB device/cable that can take the CD Players digital signal and input it into the DAP's USB port?

Why the ... do you want to do that?

The analog output of the computer works fine, so use it; connect it to an amplifier. It works great for me.

Use analog outputs of the CD player.

It all comes back to analog at the amplifier, so why subject it to conversion to digital and then back again; stupid concept. Conversions only degrade the signal.

???
I don't WANT to convert it.
I want the DIGITAL signal from my unused Marantz CD Player to get into my DAP which has a better DAC and the option of EQ'ing.
I KNOW I can use my PC but I want to dedicate my unused CD Player for the bedroom.

You can't hear it until you convert it.

Why is it better? Can't you EQ in your computer?

How would you connect the CD player if it is in a different room?

If the Marantz doesn't have a USB interface, it would be difficult.

It might seem a little abrupt, but no, you're getting good information. There's no reason to expect the DAP DAC to be better than what's in your CD player. EQ is an entirely separate matter.

There's no way to get the digital data from the CDP to the DAP other than USB, which doesn't exist. Sorry, it's a dead end, but not a big deal.

The DAC in your Marantz player is very nice, do not be afraid to use it.

Sharp LC-80LE844U | Marantz BD8002 | Marantz AV8003 | Marsh Sound Design A400s (FL/FR) | Marantz MM7055 (C/SL/SR) | Phase Tech PC 9.1 (FL/FR) | Phase Tech PC 3.1 (C/SL/SR) | Dual PSA S1811 Subs

The DAC is better in my Fiio Player and as I said I want to access the EQ settings and NOT schlep my computer around.

"There's no way to get the digital data from the CDP to the DAP other than USB, which doesn't exist."

Thanks...I know the first part as demonstrated in my question.
And now I have an answer.
I'm now unsubscribing.

How, and how do you know?

(edit)
Looks like he unsubscribed, so I guess we'll never know.

Rip your cd's and put them on your Fiio. Problem solved.
