Devialet Phantom Gold as second subwoofer?

I have a Devialet Phantom Gold that I want to run as a second sub in my existing 5.1 Klipsch RP + SVS 1000 + Pioneer LX 503 setup.

Its a 4500W speaker that goes down to 14Hz (google Devialet Phantom Gold I cant post links yet)

Is it possible to use this as a second sub? It has optical in only. I ran an RCA from the SUB2 output on the avr into a optical converter then into the Gold.. nothing.

Any ideas? Do i need a separate amp? What power amp do need

Any help appreciated

Its probably much worse then your single svs 1000 but did you set sub 2 to on in the reciever or is it set as one sub still?

Its a high end speaker $3000 USD, will destroy the SVS1000 I just cant get them both working together.

The receiver auto plays out of both sub outputs

there must be a way to run it as a sub?

I have heard it and its a lifestyle speaker not a high end hi-fi speaker. And its really not a sub. What crossover settings do you use and is it movies you have tried or music?

Also what volume is the phantom gold set at? If its low and getting a low signal then there might not be much if any movement.

Also, are you sure the rca to optical works?

Im not asking if the speaker is good or not, I am asking how do I run it as a second sub woofer in my klipsch 5.1 setup or if that is possible.

I run RCA from the receiver SUB2 output into a RCA -> optical converter then plug optical into the Phantom, why is there no output? (the same RCA from sub2 output into the svs works fine)

Does the RCA to optical converter expect a digital coax signal?
Because the analogue signal from a sub output cant be just converted to digital without an AD conversion so the phantom might be getting an invalid signal type that it doesnt recognize.

https://www.devialet.com/en-us/phantom-premier-speaker/

Under the header "Your music.Just as you like it."
"There’s more than one way to enjoy to your music. Phantom Premier wireless speakers let you access all your favorite artists, locally or via online music and video streaming services (YouTube, Netflix, Deezer, Spotify, Qobuz, TIDAL…), webradios and podcasts.

Bluetooth. Wi-Fi. AirPlay®. Spotify Connect. UPnP. Optical output. Phantom Premier's extreme connectivity lets you have it your way. Always."

Of course they also say 17Hz to 27000kHz , 4500 watts and 0 distortion, saturation and background noise up to 108db from something the size of a toaster oven . I call shenanigans on most of their claims , so I guess they could be fudging the optical output and it's an input instead , or too .

Just wondering , why would you pay 3k for all that , to only want to use a very small fraction of the claimed capability of the unit? It seems like buying a Lambo so you get the multi car insurance discount for your Honda Civic .

What do you mean by “optical converter?” You need an analog to digital converter, with rca analog in to optical out. Were you using a digital coax to optical converter?

It was a wedding present that the wife wont let me sell and it sits around unused

I don't recommend buying one, but it is insanely impressive when you see/hear it in action, nothing else ill ever own will have the bass this thing can do..

I think that's the problem the converter I have is digital to digital, need an analog to digital converter..

Gotcha . If you are still looking at using the optical , have you contacted the manufacturer to see if their description was wrong and that it is actually an optical input ? If what I linked is correct you aren't going to find a combination of parts and adapters to change an output to an input .
