Problem with sound from center channel

Hello all,

At my home I have recently set up a 3.1 system and I'm having issues with getting sound from my center channel at times. I would like advice on what I can do to get sound from the center at all times.
Here is my current setup.
Denon X1600H
TV is Samsung NU8000
L/R Tower Speakers Martin Logan Motion 20s
Center Def Tech 9040
Sub-Woofer ML Dynamo 500

At this time I am streaming everything from TV shows and movies on a firestick or via the apps in the Samsung NU8000 operating system. Music is streamed from Apple Music on my phone. Here is what's happening.... I stream from the TV app store Netflix and Amazon Prime Video and everything works perfectly!!! If I use At& T Now App on the TV it seems to only play in 2.0. Apps I play on firestick are 2.0 and Music via Apple Music are 2.0. Is there at setting I need to been in on my Denon receiver so I can have 3.1 all the time? Or does the issue have more to do with the source only being transmitted in 2.0?

A few years ago in another home I had a 5.1 setup with different speakers and it seems the center channel was always working with no problems. Any advice you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Use the Dolby Surround sound mode, this is remembered per source and if Dolby Digital it will play that instead.

Leeliemix, thank you for your response. I'll be trying that out later today.

Leeliemix gives good advice.

If you are only getting 2.0 from all apps on the Firestick, you may want to look at the settings in the Firestick since Netflix and Prime should provide 5.1. Music will always be 2.0 as that is how it is recorded but you can certainly up-mix it with one of the surround modes in your AVR (i.e. Dolby Surround)...and a lot of "purists" will only listen to music in Stereo.

There are sources for multi-channel music, but Apple isn't one of them.
