Question with whole home audio
Recently moved into a house that has built in ceiling speakers. There are a total of 7 speakers (2 in the kitchen, 2 on the patio, 2 in the master bedroom, and 1 in the master bsth.). Each room has a volume control. The wiring seems to run to media hub in the basement. Each room wire has 4 wires (W, G,R, B). They are labeled for each room along with a "source" wire. In my family room media cabinet there are 2 wires with 4 wires each (8 total). I have pictures but didn't know how to post.
I did the AA battery test to isolate which wires pair together. I only need 2 wires from each bundle to get audio playing to them all via an old receiver I have.
I would ideally like to have the music playing in different zones but it is not essential. I plan on using them to stream music from my phone.
My questions are :
1. How to attach the wires?
2. Do I need a speaker selector?
