2.1 vs stereo selection

folks, my speakers have 1 stereo connector for 2 small satellites with a separate but internally crossed-over subwoofer. the speaker manufacturer describes it as 2.1 but there is no separate channel or wire for the sub.

should i define it as just stereo or 2.1 to my soundcard?

. . . it's all about 3d

2.0. Using 2.1 means your sound card is expect to output LFE discretely (3 channels) but since your speakers appear as a regular 2 channel system use that.
