Harman Kardon AVR 745 THX certified is my primary workhorse. And has been for a few years because of its excellent musical performance with audio applications. I run it in a 7.2 setup with a Celestion and Cambridge sub (front & back). The HK 745 AVR is musically akin to the legendary HK Citation 7.0 AV Preamp I have stashed away in the attic. That preamp was $8,000 in its day. And still reigns supreme to me as the most musical I've ever heard. And I heard all of the great ones. So my heart won't let me part with it. Just in case I ever set up my audio system again one day.

I use a Denon Avr-X4000 paired with a Rotel RMB-1075 5 channel amp for fronts, center, and surround. Rear surround is handled by the receiver.

Running an RX-V1900 which is more than enough for satellites comprising JBL Ti10Ks, Studio LC2 centre, L820 side surrounds and LC1 centre rear. Tried a separate two channel amp with slightly more power for the main L/R. Made no difference that I could discern so I sold it. Installed a Cerwin Vega CV 5000 hidden in top of coat cupboard to power two SI 18 D2s.

Currently enjoying a Marantz SR7005 AVR, but looking to the future I would love to upgrade to a Marantz AV8801/MM8077 separates combo (or their similar replacements).

Pioneer Elite SC-65

Really liked how it sounded with my DefTech 8060/8040 7.1 system. I love the airplay feature. It works great with my iPad and iMac. I will eventually try a separates configuration and see if it's worth the difference, but until that time, I'm enjoying my sound right now.

I use an Onkyo TXNR3007 AVR with several separate pro amps powering my fully active LCR's and subs.

Onkyo TX-NR 3009 used in a 5.2 system

Emotiva XPA-1 for mains (2 of them)
Emotiva XPA-3 for center and surrounds
Qsc RMX 4050hd for subs (2 of them)

Choose to use a AVR with out board amps instead of pre/pro and out board amps in case I ever wanted to go heights, wides, or surround back. If I do decide to go that route I will just use the 3009 for power.

Onkyo TX-NR-809 AVR used as a pre/pro and also to power 4 surrounds and 2 Crown DCA-300a Series II two-channel amps to power my LCRs in a 7.2 system. Although this receiver has two LFE outputs and I use dual subs they are summed together as one so its really a 7.1 system.

I use the Marantz SR5001 receiver as a preamp and the Outlaw 770 as a separate amp for my 7.1 system. They drive an all Pinnacle system (Gold Reference towers, gold reference center and 4 gold reference mini-monitors for surrounds and rears. I have an SVS Sub.
