Funny you should ask. I'm shopping for a 2-channel amp right now. I use a Denon 4311 with my 5.2 system (Salk Sound), and it's performance has never indicating anything's lacking, but I wouldn't mind a bit more for music listening. Ha ha ha, just kidding. The real reason is because I haven't made any purchases for my system in a year & am feeling a tinge of the upgraditis.

The poll is not multi-system friendly biggrin.gif

I use a Denon 4308Ci for HT and Sound Card (pre amp basically) and power amp for my 2.0.

An audiophile likes to talk about how much they spent and how good it sounds.

A DIY'er likes to talk about how little they spent and how good it sounds.

Harman Kardon AVR 2700, 4 JBL 530 bookshelf speakers, JBL 520C Centre Channel, 1 JBL 550P subwoofer, Sony BDP-320 Blu Ray Player, The Little Black Box V1.0 XBMC media player.
The HK 2700 is a sweet sounding AV Receiver. With music it cannot be beaten (for the price). Don't know how I lived without Dolby Volume and Logic 7, TV sounds so much better. The JBL 5 series speakers I love, are a steal for the selling price, Movies and music, even TV & XBMC content sound so good.

I currently use an AVR. It's the next thing on the upgrade list, and I'm trying to decide whether I want to replace it with another AVR (Pioneer Elite SC-75 primarily for its D3 amplification), or go with separates. I'm looking at Class D amps primarily.

Pioneer SC-95, 2x Crown XLS 1000 (LCR amps)
3x Epos Epic 2(LCR), 4x Emotiva UAW 6.2(Surrounds), 4x Aperion Intimus LC-I6(Atmos/DTS:X)
2x Dayton Ultimax 18" sealed(subs), Behringer Inuke 6000DSP(sub amp),
Vizio P-65C1 LED HDR
Oppo UDP-203 HD-Blu Ray Player, Oppo DV971H DVD Player, Roku Premiere+

Pioneer Elite AVR feeding two Yamaha P2200 power amps to vertically biamp the Quantum line source front channels, all other channels are powered by the AVR. If the Infinity's weren't so power hungry it would simplify things alot!

My system 2013-14

Panasonic TC-P65ST60, TH-50PX75U, Pioneer VSX-33, BDP-150, Fios, Yamaha RXV2500-P2200x2, Infinity QLS, M&K V-75x2

Your poll doesn't include a choice for my system.

Oppo BDP-105D -- Does it all as far as I'm concerned

Parasound 2250 -- LF & RF -- 2 of 7.1

Parasound 5250 v2 -- remaining 5 of 7.1

Am I too far in front of the curve?

Simaudio Moon Titan 5-channel amp

The Attraction lacks HDMI, so all video is run through an Oppo BDP-103 to the projector.

Haha. Nice!

I would have voted 'pre/pro with separate amps' in your position but I guess that is not "hip" enough. wink.gif
