My screen is 65" and I am 6.5' away. The middle of the screen is at 42" (which matches the height of my eyes).

I intend to move the seating distance to 7.5' when I will replace my TV by a 77".

I'm all over the place depending on what I'm viewing.

13' from 120" projection screen in home theater
8' from 55" LG B7 in living room
6' from 55" C9 in game room

A posted distance chart I saw on former Highdefinition, said for my 55" 4K UHD, best distance is 6-8 feet, and went with 7 feet. If I get my twin bed any closer, I won't be able to squeeze in between the foot of the bed and the entertainment center, to tuck in the sheets. lol Although, I have rollers on the bed frame..........

I was always told what ever your screen size, you should double that ...If you have a 42 inch TV you should sit 84 inches away from it...Thats just what I was told and have found it works out pretty well
