Advice On new Remote

Hi I built my Home theater back in 2013 it does not get used all that much. One of the things that I did not install/Program my self was the remote. I had this Professionally programmed it is a Universal MX-950 with a couple of extenders. I found out about a year ago that it is no longer supported. The company that programmed it even tried to find my data on his old laptop but still could not got it to link up. Many hours of Programming and tweaking went into this and so did a lot of money. But it worked great. When I went to add a new cable box and roku player is when i found out that it was not supported. I have Grafix eye with lots of scenes, mini split system. etc and lots of audio. Does anyone have and recommendations?

Must be a typo, URC does not list that model number.

Hi its definitely a MX-950 its about 10 years old now. I really don't want to pay a fortune and several visits from a programmer to get everything to work correctly. I was wondering if their was an easier less expensive way to to go.

Thank You again

Actually it's an older model from around 2006 and had it's own Editor software.

It was discontinued long ago.

I'd love to hop in on this thread...I am in a similar situation with (2) URC MX-900 remotes with base stations from about 11-12 years ago. I have two media closets that are not in line of sight from my viewing rooms. I had URC send me the Editor program to re-program the remotes but it wouldn't connect to them. Ideally I'd like to use these existing remotes to function with my new TV's, Roku, and AV receivers. Does anyone know of someone in Chicago that can program them? Or is there anther remote in can purchase to work with my components hidden away in a media closet out of the line of sight? Distance is only about 30FT for both. Thx

I would figure out exactly why that official URC-supplied software won't connect to either of your remotes. It should work.

It could be some sort of issue or incompatibility on your PC (Mac?), or a driver issue, or administrator/permissions issue, or cable issue, etc.

I'd start a separate/new MX-900 Connection Issue thread and post the details of what you've tried and what is going on, and someone here who is familiar with the Editor Software may be able to help you. It may be something simple.
