One remote to control them all?
Is this even possible?
My tv system:
Panasonic Plasma[two HDMI jacks on back]
Amazon Fire TV gadget
Google Home Mini
Since only two HDMI jacks on Panasonic Plasma[old but works great], I use HDMI splitter[it has small remote].
HDMI 1: DVD player
HDMI 2: Comcast DRV, Amazon Fire TV gadget
Don't have Google Home Mini in setup[yet], don't know if it "could" be helpful[an asset]or not..?
All gadgets have their own remote control unit[Google Home Mini and Chromecast don't]...
I MUST use Panasonic Remote to turn on/off TV
Then I MUST make sure TV is on "HDMI 2"
Then I MUST make sure HDMI splitter is set for proper channel
Only then, can I select ROKU[99% of everything I watch in on ROKU or one of their apps], I know, I should just CUT the cord, but so far can't figure out how to do that can still see all the stuff I want to see[some NFL games on cable TV channels, most on Dish Network app]...
My wife can't figure out all this stuff, I can and have written it out, word by word, but in general, she's not happy!
Please advise an old but patient VET on how to get ONE remote to control them all or a A/V receiver? As long as it's easy and she can do it, hopefully with ONLY one remote, life would be good!
PS: I've tried an older Harmony remote, is did alot, but I still had to use Panasonic, Roku, Amazon Fire and HDMI splitter remotes! Maybe I set up the Harmony incorrectly, I "played" with its configurations for several weeks, contacted Harmony,etc..
I'm slow, but can eventually learn, thanks for your help...:-) [I "might" suffer from overconfidence]...😎
