HDMI splitter with no added input lag?

I'm looking into a HDMI splitter so I can send HDMI video directly to the TV while the HD Audio is sent to a receiver. I'm just wondering if a splitter would add input latency or not? Or if this would even work? I know I could just run my HDMI into my receiver and then out to TV but even with all the extra processing off I feel noticeable input lag even if it may be like 10ms or so.

Would using a splitter be like sending it directly to the tv without added input latency? I would love to take advantage of 7.1 audio on my xbox one x but not at the cost of input latency. Does anyone have any experience with this setup? Thanks
