Minimum audio lag on A/V receivers

Are there any A/V receivers available that have minimal audio lag? I own a Sony STR-DN1080 and in the past an Onkyo TX-SR545 and both had a minimum of about 45 ms input lag. My Samsung soundbar is more like 20 ms.

To be clear, this is with any A/V sync delay set to 0 ms--it's not because of that. It seems simply due to the time the receiver takes to process the sound and output it to the speakers.

I have been able to find very little information around this, so curious if anyone has seen anything. Even using "direct" mode didn't seem to make any difference. Given that new TVs can get below 10 ms lag, it would be nice to have the audio similarly reduced in lag, so I don't see a ~35 ms gap that cannot be mitigated.

Interesting note: The Sony A/V sync delay is in addition to the 45 ms lag, whereas the Onkyo's included it (meaning setting below 45 ms had no effect).
