if you get the chance upload the firmware again. it had [email protected] resolution but display scaling set it 4k and was working fine if you get time. if not no worries sorry to bother you.

Engineer Menu can be changed and in my previous mod attempt it was missing a map to save the settings and changes (i relocated them to the same place the original settings is at (which required a little bit of C++ programming. Nevertheless, it is ultimately possible to add an HZ switcher that will adjust the correct voltage it needs to amp up the tv to [email protected] The only problem is that I do not know the threshold or throttle limit of this tv so that way it does not overheat as much and it doesn't 'pop' when it is using more power than it can handle.

Sounds like you gave up , no I completely understand, but that's the beauty of modding. Maybe now it is not purposeful for you, but other people along the line will see what happened here and have a tv that is Modded beyond its own limit. As far as the software side, you are right they did use a 1080p processing board but the 4K is overclocked by how much power it can get (realistically all tv's can go to any resolution) its just like processors and graphic cards, given the perfect cooling solution and power you have, you can still overclock.Software side just needs that option open for 4K in the Dvdplayer inside the "var" folder. Remember it is using squashfs 4.5 for its compression now, so it should be easier to decompress that file back to the original size so that the tv does not detect any modified changes which will put the tv in "protective" mode.

The other thing I have discovered is that it's odd that we can run the resolution of 4K 30HZ and changing the H/size and W/size it acts differently to when we are in other resolutions.

Thats really all we can say for now.

I am almost just considering that when Seiki PRO comes out... I grab one.. they have hdmi2 and display port...

it will do 60hz @ 4k so thats my goal and I am getting tired and stressed after spending hours pissing around with this tv.. it's not worth our time..

Best thing is we're all left with a Magically performing 1080p screen for movies/tv

and the option for 4k is awesome.. I have known movies are always usually 24hz so thats fine for this screen

    Message 2,

So I feel that what needs to happen is quiet simple... for a programmer!! hahaha

I have gotten to the point of being able to resize the image of the screen like H/W scale H/w size etc..
I mean, to create the black letterbox of widescreen for example if I was to make a res of 3840x1800 It would need to be letterboxed. so changing the controls we can do it

I feel that each jump between each change is too large and in order to get our picture perfect image, we need precise controls on the H/W scale settings..

because it seems weird that I overclock my TV to [email protected] HZ and the image is blurred
and changing the settings in Hsize does not clear the image, I think like a regular monitor if we has half pixel stretching for the controls of making the image width/height adjustment.
We might get it to look sweet!

    Hi Yungmoni,

Apart from my news I wrote in here I will tell you my thinking on a software standpoint.

This is what I feel has happened. this tv is 4K 100% but! but...
seiki has ripped and modded a 1080p firmware to make 4K work..

So when ever I go into firmware settings like engineer menu, it never works as expected..

Anyways, he pretty much gave me a idea to over volt only ONE HDMI port so that way you do not burn the board (which is why I said it is difficult to do in software because it requires soldering) but it may be possible to do some sort of software overclocking. Now He told me that over-volt will allow it to push max 59.95Hz but only ONE INPUT CAN BE PLUGGED IN ASIDE FROM THE POWER CORD (meaning Coaxial, RGB, VGA, and/or other HDMI CANNOT be USED at the same time). Only the HDMI has the ability to be over-volt. Again I am only a software expert not a hardware expert. Also another note is that the File Size of my beta (broken) firmware does not matter, it was my setting to enable the video in an unsupported format ( I repacked and it booted but my added features were not present). But anyways, sorry for this long message. I have just been busy with other things.

BUT! I am building a Desktop PC so maybe I will give it another crack at it. (I was programming off an HP Pavilion dv6-3163nr laptop). I would like for everyone to help me and keep me caught up with everything as I decided to take a 6-month break from school. If I ever go silent on here again just send me an email via google hangouts @[email protected] As far as "Wolf guy" asking for info about over-volt the HDMI tell him to contact Sony. I had a guy come to my work and he was one of the engineers for Sony and I asked him questions about 4K on HDMI 1.4av2 - Yes HDMI has 3 revisions of HDMI 1.4a Seiki has the 2nd revision.

Hey HapppyM and Shaun, I was just reading the last pages today and I am amazed by how far this has come, Happy for insight, Shaun for Troubleshooting and Programming and Wol----err-err wolf name guy for his study in power, conductivity and connections to the manufacturers of the components that are in the Seiki tv. I do, however, have bad news. I have no been working on the firmware partly because of the amount of things that Seiki's programming team changed overwhelmed me, they have re-wrote the entire firmware and added new filesystems that are not yet understood like Squash5.0 embedded with a spoofed Squash4.0. Also I have been dealing with life issues (bills, car, job, school, etc.) so I rarely had time to even turn on my Seiki tv.

If we can fine tune these that's the secret.!
Appears Phase allows 1 single adjustment between a range of 0-60... somewhere perhaps between 11-12 you will see the phase change.. So that is the idea about making the pixels line up..

As I said the TV thinks it is a 1080p as to why it is not fine tuning..

It seems that adjusting the H/V Size the jump is too large and if we could fine tune the jump size we might able to reach a proper 1:1 image

I truly want 35-45hz... now.. I am ready to throw it away for a new set...

I had 3500x1850 looking sweet today but Engineer Menu does not save settings!!!

Your our last hope.. Come on buddy re-join the forum and guide us towards the Light!
Seriously good luck with the firmware.
