Thanks for the update. I`m interested that you mentioned flatpacks. I was just thinking the other day that you should partner with Tarponator to produce flatpacks.

If you move the tune up that much there will definitely be some reworking of the front resonator. The M18SV3 has a pretty short front, but maybe not short enough. The resonate frequency of the HF resonator should be roughly double the LF resonator. The displacement of the resonators can tweak how smooth the native response is of the box, a bigger resonator will have more output with a given amount of power....

Started considering 18" mini-devastator (maybe the Mini 18 Stepped Version 3 Flex Tune) out of my existing driver (upgrade existing sub), Fane Imperium 18NDXL, 29.4^2 / 5.6 = 154. Fs/Qts = 110. I have it currently in 136 liter bass reflex tuned to 24 Hz EQd straight to 24. Later maybe NSW 21 Dev, but could try the old driver first if not bad idea.

The motor on that woofer is not strong enough to run in the M18SV3. You would have to look at one of the lower compression front BMDs that are designed for the SAF or the TBW. The M18SV3 needs something with a strong motor, like the 18DS100-4 or the SAN184.50 if you are looking at Lavoce.

    Jay,
Is the goal compact or using a driver you already have? 129 Bl2/Re is not a ton of motor, compact relies on motor unless you want to take output hits.

Hi! yeah I already have paudio gst181500 and the design I saw was Bass Ascension Module Five (BAMF 21") micro devastator for PA duty and that Devs version has x34 deep so i wonder if we can make it 27" if using 18" driver and also I play music with 30hz on my PA setup outdoor and indoor

How does a smaller from baffle impact things? I was hoping to create something with a smaller footprint as my center. So would be looking to make it deeper just a couple inches larger than the woofer.

You can test baffle designs using this tool - Loudspeaker Design Software Looks like most effects are under 3db. The room will mess things up more than anything.

Some reason it limited me to 420 letters. But any help would be greatly appreciated! It seems you are the man at building enclosures. Ive followed the devastator discussion closely. Thanks

Hey man, I started a thread in the DIY speaker group about building a subwoofer sofa table. I was kicking around the idea of getting a pair of HS-24s or NSW 6021s. I think I will go with the NSWs since I'd rather have more mid bass output. Dimensions are 6' long, 13-15" deep, 30" tall. Those are just rough dimensions and can be adjusted as needed. Would you mind helping me design a ported enclosure to house these?

It will be awhile before I have time to do design work again. Once stuff appears in the Index hit me up with a message then.

    Hey again John.
I just Googled the BIC speakers in your signature.
Are the EV15 the large 3-way speakers with the 15 inch woofer and horn loaded tweeter ? Those look awesome.

I've been leaning toward going with DIYSG speakers. How do you like the BIC speakers ? Are the other ones listed the MTM speakers ? If so, I looked at them on Amazon. Those look nice too.

Anyway, thanks again for all the help. I'm trying to get a handle on all of these equipment choices.

    Todd
