Klipsch Reference Premiere On-Wall at CES 2017

Looking for that famous Klipsch sound in a more decor friendly format? The company has you covered in 2017 with the new Reference Premiere Designer On-Wall series of speakers. There are four new models in the lineup including a passive soundbar called the RP-440D-SB ($700) featuring four 3.5″ mid/woofers and three 1″ horn-loaded tweeters.

The three speaker models are the RP-640D ($500 each) with six 3.5″ mid/woofers and a 1″ horn-loaded tweeter, the RP-240D ($300 each) featuring two 3.5″ mid/woofers, and finally the RP-140D that pairs a single 3.5″ mid/woofer with a 1″ horn-loaded tweeter.

The RP-640D and RP-240D are symmetrical designs, and all three speakers can be mounted horizontally or vertically—the logos even rotate. All the speakers in this series feature 90° by 90° Tractrix horns.

In addition to wall mounting, these speakers can be placed (horizontally) on a tabletop or TV stand using an included base. For wall-mount applications, you’ll find 4-way keyhole mounts on the back.

The speakers in this series, when combined with competent subwoofers, should be able to deliver a compelling listening experience without being intrusive. This series allows you to mix and match components to achieve the scale and scope of speaker system needed for a given installation. Klipsch expects to make the Reference Premiere on-wall speakers available sometime in the third quarter of 2017.
