My BDP 8520 (the Wal Mart model BD660) was working fine. My folks ask me to test their BD660 at my house, so I unplug my BD 660, both the HDMI and the power cord. Plug my HDMI cable to their BD660 and connect their unit w/ power. They ask me to diagnositcs something unrelated, that only took 5...

Hello, I have the pioneer elite bdp-52fd and was wondering if its possible to make the player default to dolby 2.0 instead of leaving it to the individual disc? When you can't do dolby 2.0 you lose a lot of info in 2 ch because I don't have a HT. Thanks, Tom

I am looking to buy a player to play Blu-ray discs, SACDs, DVD-Audio discs. I am going to bitstream all audio/video into my reciever(Yamaha RX-A3000) therefor DACs on BD player will not be used. Before I begin, I am aware that some people don't think jitter reduction (such as Pioneer's PQLS technology) doesn't make a difference. I am also aware that some people don't believe in bothering with sound reproduction above 20 KHz. Here's my issue. The Pioneer players use PQLS. When switched...

Good morning all. I am trying to decide between the Sony BDP-S780 vs. Pioneer BDP 52 FD. I am setting it up with a Sony Bravia (KDL-52WL140) and Sony Soundbar (HTCT550). I am trying to stay under $300 for my bd player. Currently using my fat PS3 for bd, but want to see a noticeable difference...

I am having a hard time finding a Pioneer BDP-53FD. Can anyone help on this? Has it not been released? I need to get a player to pair with a new Pioneer SC-57 and this seems an obvious natural fit. Would like to hear your thoughts. Would another model be a better match?

Attachment 224421 After two disappointing years of re-badged Sharp Products (BDP-31/33 and BDP-41/43), Pioneer has released a Mediatek (8555) chipped design that offers excellent deinterlacing and cadence recognition in synthetic and realworld tests. The 53FD offers additional video...

I'm looking at getting my first blu-ray player and I'll be honest in that I'm mostly going to use it to watch Netflix streaming and DVDs, so Netflix quality and DVD upconversion are important to me. Having blu-ray capability means I can finally jump on the blu-ray bandwagon and start getting...
