A friend is looking for budget floorstanding speakers. I did a quick search on Amazon and found the Sony SSF-5000 for $150/pair and great reviews. Newegg has the Energy EF-500 for $130/pair. Free shipping and no tax helps as well.

and would like to know if an upgrade to monitor 70's would be better? I really love the sound of the energy's. But the polks look pretty sick.
For the same cost, Polk Audio Monitor60 Series II or Energy EF-500 (floor standing speakers)??? The Polks do cost more at regular price.
