 Tried to connect an external speaker to a panasonic tc-l32c3 flat panel TV. The TV only has a line out toslink digital audio output. My external self powered speaker only has an analog RCA input. I split the analog output from my cable box, as I have done successfully with 2 older CRT type...

Looking at a replacement 32" LCD for the bedroom. Other than resolution; 720p/1080p, I believe these two TV's share the same panel and most other features. Is there any major difference other than the res?
