So I am trimming up my list of LCDs and have a few I am considering.
Sony KDL-65W850A $2.5K
Samsung UN65F8000 $3K
Samsung UN65F7100 $2.2K
VIZIO M651d-A2R 1.7K
So right now I am teetering between the Sony 850A and the Sammy 7100.
These sets meet my requirements of 65” with 3D.
I just bought this new TV. Of course the internal speakers are not great. I have attached my Logitech Z623 speakers to the audio out. They work fine except there is no remote volume control. I have to get up and turn the volume knob on the speaker. I thought this would be a common problem with...
unRaid File server -> Intel NUC D34010WYK (OpenELEC 3.2.4) -> Sony STR DN840 Receiver (5.1 Energy Take Classic Speaker set up) -> Samsung Un65F8000
Been working fine past month or so after some tweaks (Full RGB, so black was actually black, Harmony remote set up etc). However I tried...
I've had this tv for 3 days.
I just noticed this morning that there was what looked like a smudge mark on the bottom area of the screen.
I thought at first it was a finger print but when I looked closer, it looks like hundreds of tiny small dots that are inside the LED screen.
I recently purchased a Samsung UN65F8000. Using the audio out connector I connected my Logitech Z623 speakers to it. Sound is great. Only problem is I have to get up to control change the speaker volume. I want to use a remote control to change the speaker volume. The connection between the TV...
We purchased the 65F8000 this weekend and so far, we're extremely pleased!
But, for some reason, Netflix looks terrible on this set. Here's our set-up:
Comcast STB > HDMI1
Comcast STB Dig Audio Out > Samsung BD/HT Dig Audio In
Samsung BD/HT > HDMI 3
Blu-Rays and DVDs look great...
Hopefully I'm posting in the proper thread area but I am having a hard time deciding on which Television I am going to purchase to replay my Mitsubishi DLP I recently sold. I am mainly interested in the F8000 65" and if I could get a great price the 4k version of the television however for...
I took my old tv down from my OmniMount full motion wall mount. I'm about to hang my new Samsung. The problem is that my old big screen had four mounting holes to attach to the mount, the Samsung only has two. There is no option for only two mounting holes in the OmniMount manual.
Trying to narrow down from our final three displays, two of which are LED's. Looking for opinions on which of these two and why. 12.5'-13' viewing distance. Sunroom with 90% window coverage of walls. Day and night viewing. Color accuracy, motion for sports and contrast matter most.
I recently purchased a 65 Samsung F8000 and am wiring to my HK 354. Ideally I want to have all my Comcast, Blu Ray, Xbox, etc, go to the HDMI inputs on the TV and have the audio out to the receiver via optical. Question is do all the codecs like DTS pass through? Or would it be...
Hi all. Long time lurker; first post. Great community here.
I just setup a new Samsung UN65F8000 TV. I'm overall thrilled with it—great contrast, bright enough to drive through all the windows in my kitchen (albeit in Seattle), and easy enough on the eyes to pass the wife test.
I've been scouring the forums here (extremely helpful posts, by the way) and am getting ready to purchase (soon) a new LCD HDTV. I've narrowed it down to the Samsung UN65F8000 vs. the UN65F7100. Both look incredible and have great specs.
It seems clear that picture quality...
So I purchased a Samsung 65" F8000 series tv and an Onkyo tx-nr929. Picture awesome , sound, great. But, I am having the darnedest time with the pic going to the tv. The only way I can get the pic to show up on the tv is to switch back and fourth on the pass through on the HDMI setting on the...
Hi, I just bought a un65F8000, Samsung sound bar Samsung HW-F750 2.1-Channel, and a Sammy BD-F5900 3D Wi-Fi Blu-ray player. I have DirecTv. I am going to mount the tv and sound bar on the wall and put the directv box and blu ray player below it, in my basement.
What is the best way to...
I have got Samsung UE65F8000STXXU.
It works great except when you try to use 3D it starts to flicks the backlight on 2/3 highs of the screen ?
Any idea what might cause that?
Please see it on YT

We have a house that is prewired for (5) in-ceiling speakers and the subwoofer to the side (in front).
The room is 19' wide and it is 12' from the television location to the rear speakers.
The kitchen is behind the viewing area so the entire depth of the space is roughly 26'.
Please forgive my ignorance on these systems, I'm getting to that age where I am not sure if I am applying the correct logic.
I just bought a Samsun F8000 65" and it has a lot of apps and features and will soon be hooking it up.
Now prior to the purchase of this TV, all of my peripherals...
For example --- does 2D 1080p look better on a Sony 55X900A (ultra) or a 55W900A ? or a Samsung 65F9000(ultra) or a 65F8000?
Is the PQ difference between the ultra and flagship 2K sets marginal?
Thanks in advance?
Getting ready to buy the flat screen but the issue has now become:
Plasma or LED LCD
only comparing the Samsung for now, but for about the same price as the LED, why would I or would I not want to purchase the plasma. I do understand it is heavier.
