TCL is the fastest growing TV brand in America and it has now announced that it is expanding into Canada. The company has announced immediate availability for complete lineup of TCL Roku TVs including the premium 6-Series in 55” and 65” models for $849 (CAD) and $1249 (CAD) respectively.
Also available now are the 4-Series, which start at under $400 (CAD) for a 43” screen size, and the 3-Series TVs that includes a 32” option for under $200 (CAD).
The availability of the TCL Roku TV 6-Series TVs is of greatest interest to Canadian AV enthusiasts and home theater aficionados. These two models (55R617-CA and 65R617-CA) use FALD (full array local dimming) to render exceptional HDR imagery, even have Dolby Vision that optimizes content for the full capabilities of the display. TCL notes that over 240 movies, as well as over 200 hours of episodic streaming television content, are currently available in Dolby Vision!
Furthermore, the built-in Roku TV makes this series very user-friendly While offering access to over 150,000 movies plus TV episodes.
Speaking of FALD, the 55” model offer 96 local dimming zones and the 65” model has an impressive 120 zones available for dimming. This allows for increased contrast between light and dark areas, as well as keeping those letterbox bars dark when watching widescreen format movies.
TCL uses a technology it calls NBP Photon (nano-band phosphor) technology in its 6-Series TVs to render WCG (wide color gamut), which is another benefit of UHD 4K HDR. This lets you see the rich and vibrant colors that cannot be expressed through older TVs and video formats such as Blu-ray. For example, the red of the Coke can.
Dollar for dollar, the 6-Series 55” and 65” TCL Roku TVs are among the best performing budget-performance flat panel displays out there. And now, they are available in Canada.
