For the Panasonic TH-65PF12UK Plasma when pixel mode is on sometimes I notice with some Direct TV HD signals a horizontal white broken line across the very top of the picture. With the vertical controls I can move the picture up and the line disappears, or I can turn 1:1 pixel mode off and the picture expands a bit and that line goes away.

So my question is what is causing that line interference, and is 1:1 pixel mode a good thing or a not so good thing, should it be on or off.

Why do the manufactures make such a big deal about this feature?

Thanks

the "stuff" at the top of the screen is closed captioning information...

before, this wasn't an issue, as all sets overscanned...

with 1to1 mapping, there's no overscan, so you see it...

it's a "big deal" because when you aren't in 1to1, the display is rescaling the image to allow for overscan...
