Anyone else hearing it? Here in DC on WTTG-DT you hear a voice in the background explaining all the narrative (like for a blind person watching).

Only comes through on 5-1. Don't hear it on WTTG on D*.

Weird.

Yeah, I have that here in Chicago, too. Via Comcast.

Yeah, I just came to the conclusion that it was part of the show.

Stupid me, I never bothered to check the analog feed of it though to see if it was on there as well.

Was it a bug? or intentionally part of the show?

Will be interesting to see if it happens again on the west coast DTV feed.

This is why I record prefeeds and an analog backup source. You know they are listening to the analog in the control room but you can bet they don't even have a way to punch up and monitor the audio on the DTV signal at most affiliates or possibly even the NOC.

Its called descriptive audio and it is for the visually handicapped.

When watched directly from 032-1 i got left channel only audio with

the descriptive audio addon. Quite funny actually.

When i switch to 8492 i get right channel only audio without the

descriptive audio addon.

Once again Fox is fubar'd.

I, too, thought it was part of the show - then switched to the D* feed and realized it wasn't. I had to watch it on D* as it was too distracting listening to the descriptive audio. I went through every menu I could trying to see if I had some SAP selected, but never could shut it off. Nice work, FOX!

I guess I take it for granted how much The Simpsons rely on sight gags. I can't see how anyone visually impaired would want to suffer though that. In the beginning it's novel, after a while it's just tiring.

"Homer reclines while driving".

"Homer eats a doughnut".

"Homer crashes into the side of a house".
