Hi I am looking to spend about $1,500 on my 2 front and 1 center speakers. The room they will be placed in will be primarily for entertaining and won't be a dedicated theater / listening room. The system will be a 7.2 system with the following components already selected (feel free to disagree here as well as nothing has yet been purchased):
  • 4 Phoenix Gold ATc8 In-Ceiling speakers
  • 2 A5 - 350 Subwoofers
  • A Pioneer Elite SC-27 Receiver

I would like the 2 front speakers to be free standing to affect the desired aesthetics of the room. I was thinking about going with the Infinity Classia Series for both the front and center speakers. Below is my floor plan and mock up of the front of the room.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response. Have you been able to compare the Monitor Audio and Paradigms in a similar environment? Unfortunately I don't have a Monitor Audio dealer close to where I live.

I did an A/B at a paradigm dealer with Monitor 9s and RX6. The Rx6's weren't broken in but I prefered their slightly warmer sound. The Paradigms were a bit more foreward. The MA's had a much better fit/finish to them IMHO as well. The rosenut finish is gorgeous. If you have the budget for the MA's go with them. I think the paradigms are a bit cheaper and really the new RX's are more comparable to the Paradigm Studio line (which is slightly more than the RX8's). I think the RX8's are about 1700/pair. RX6 about 1200. Monitor 11's about 1100 and the Studio 60's about 2k.

I'm not a real audiophile but I'm going to buy the MA's RX8 or RX6's here shortly. I think I prefer the more laid back British sound (I currently own NHT Classic 3's). I really do think if WAF is a factor at least between the MA RX's and the Monitor line. The MAs win hands down.
