1.8 gain screen will help my 270 lumens lcd projector ?

I currently use a Dalite 1.0 gain mat screen. unless I can work out something with the lamp ( a brigther model, but I doubt so ), is this gain increase results in significant increased brightness ?

Yes a higher gain screen will definitely help! It should make you image 80% brighter, just like you'd expect from the gain numbers. That's quite a bit and hopefully there will be little or no hotspotting.

You're probably aware of this, but you're trading viewing angle for straight ahead brightness. No free lunches.
