I set up a theme - It asked me hours???? I read the manual. It does not say anything about what the hours are for on a guaranteed theme.


Does it mean 1 hour - I only get one hour even though the show is shown for 4 hours one night?


It does not make sense.


Please help.

- a theme channel will keep as many hours as you tell it to.


- if you set it for 1 hour, it'll record anything that is 1 hour or less in length and keep a 1 hour total of shows matching that theme. if a 30-minute show matches the 1-hour theme, the replay will record up to 2 episodes of that show.


- the replay won't record over anything in a theme channel unless it is at least 23 hours and 59 minutes old.


example: set a 1 hour theme for "24". the replay records "24" monday night from FX. tuesday night, the replay deletes the "24" recorded monday night just before recording. if the tuesday night episode is a 2-hour special of "24", it won't record.


just use the feature and you'll get it before long.

If you set up a theme for 1 hour, it means it will only record up to 1 hour. If the show is 4 hours long and you set up a 1 hour theme channel, it will not record.


If you have 4 one hour shows in the same night that you want your theme to try to pick up, you need to set it to at least 4 hours.


Hours means exactly that: how much space are you reserving in hours for the show, not how many hours it will keep the show on your replay before it deletes it.

I also noticed that it subtracts the time you have reserved immediatly from time availible

The Replay has always dealt strictly with hours when it comes to theme based channels. You are thinking of show based channels, in which case you are correct, it asks you how many episodes you would like to keep.

If you make it guaranteed, yes, this is what it shows in the Replay Guide. You can use this space for other things until an episode of your selected show records.
