I have a PS3 (for games) and an HTPC (for movies) connected through HDMI to the receiver.

The receiver has only one HDMI out which is then connected to a Panasonic TX-L42V20.

Is it possible for the TV to recognize automatically what the input on the receiver is and apply the appropriate calibration setting?
(e.g. "Game" for the PS3 and "True Cinema" for the PC)

Probably not. But you can attach your PS3 HDMI directly into the tv. Then run an optical out of the PS3 directly into your receiver. You will have to change the inputs on your tv and receiver this way when you use your PS3, but if the differences in your picture settings are very different, it may be a solution.

Ok thanks. I already have an HDMI splitter that does the work but I was wondering if I could use one less device behind the TV table.

Is this possible with some other high end TV or a high end receiver?
