Are you using an LCD screen? ALL LCDs have a fixed display size, however, some graphic cards (at least on my laptop) will scale a lower resolution to my screen's native resolution.

why does 1024x768i only make a small window in the center of my screen?
how can i get 1024x768i take up the whole screen? if i am correct this would make the icons bigger which is what i want.

thanks for the reply! no im using a panny 51" 4:3 rear projection that accepts 480p, 940i, 540p, 1080i.
