I have a specific question I haven't found an answer for from searching.

The V10 and others can properly detect and deinterlace 1080i film sources. Once the V10 has detected and deinterlaced 1080i film content, what does it do with the resulting 24p? For Blu-Ray, it would display at 48hz/96hz. I'm not sure what hz the TV normally runs out (i.e. Samsungs, I presume, at 120hz or 240hz, would take the 24p and use 5:5 or 10:10 for a judder free motion). Does the V10 apply 3:2 pulldown to display it at 60hz?

Edit: I guess a simplier way of asking the question (I think) is if TVs that properly recognize and play 1080p/24 sources (at 48, 72, 96, 120 or 240) consider a properly deinterlaced 1080i film source as a 1080p/24?

Wondered about that, too, for the 65" TH-65VX100U Panasonic I acquired several months back. From all the reviews, AIUI, after extracting 24p frames from 2-3-pulldown 1080i, the processor displays at 96 fps. 1080/60i or 720/60p video (without pulldown) would be displayed at 1080/60p. Not sure about V10s, but have been running my VX100 with the 3-2 pulldown option set to "ON," assuming this actually means inverse pulldown.

Since there's likely to be so many V10s in homes, was also wondering if these sets are using a DCI color gamut like my VX100 ? Supposedly the only way to 'fix' this color, assuming it would help that much, is to use an external video processor with a color management system--priced more than V10s. -- John
