I'm running my HTPC to my XG with the following settings:

Resolution 1920x1080i

H: 70.070 Khz

V: 59.940 Khz

With such a high Horizontal scan rate, does this mimic 1080p? I know technically the H should be 67.43 Khz

From the high horizontal scan rate it looks like you are already running 1080p. 1080i is around 31k. I don't see how it would be possible to run such a high scan rate at 60hz vertical without it being a progressive image, or much higher resolution settings on the pc.

All Powerstrip. I copied the 1080p H & V ertical settings & put them in Powerstrip. But I stall have the output selected as Interlaced.

1080I = 1080i HDTV NTSC 33.72 59.94 Interlaced

1080p = 1080P HDTV Doubled NTSC 67.43 59.94 Progressive

I used = 1080i HDTV NTSC 70.07 59.94 Interlaced

So not progressive output, still interlaced but with Double the Horizontal frequency

Sorry that should have read Hz up to.

Your running 120hz interlaced. Same timings and bandwidth as 1080p 60hz, but the lines are being interlaced.

How does it look? If I had a 9" CRT I'd be trying 1080 at 100hz interlaced for PAL and 96hz interlaced for NTSC. Same timings as 1080p 50hz/48/hz but hopefully no flicker.

It looks better than the original 1080i settings, brighter for one thing, and a lot sharper than I thought. I am now easily able to read text on my windowes desktop, it's tiny text but readable. I'll take some scren shots later. I still prefer 720p for DVD though

But to my eye will it appear as 1080P would or will the interlacing part still affect the picture do you think?
