Ok, so I have an NEC 24 inch monitor with no HDMI-(yes my monitor is capable of 1080p) but it does have DVI-D with HCCP (whatever that means).

And so I hook it up to my Xbox Elite using HDMI-DVI cable.

In the 360 video setting options I set the video to be 1080p, press ok and away I go playing Gears of War.

So my question is, am I really playing at 1080p?...or is it 1080i or less?

What setting should I set it at? Just put it on 1080p and hope for the best?

your monitor supports 1920X1200, and HDCP. there is absolutely no reason why you wouldnt be getting 1080p with 1920X1080 selected in the xbox dashboard.

do you have small black bars on top/bottom? just curious if that monitor is scaling or not, do you notice any vertical stretching?

also, go into the monitors menu, and it should show the input resolution/frequency.

Just leave it at 1080p for the best possible picture at any time.

No there isn't any black bars at the top or bottom. I was initially expecting that- so maybe there is a some stretching but without an exact image beside it would be very difficult to see.

I will try and see if I can remedy this.
