I have a PS3 that outputs 1080p24 to my Sony SXRD 55A3000 TV which accepts it and even does 120Hz. i cannot find the thread but I heard most TV's take a 1080p24 signal convert it to 60Hz then 120Hz, is this true of my TV? I have a $200 credit at a store that has the Yamaha 661 receiver which will accept multi channel PCM but this received does not pass 1080p24 only 1080p and I cannot afford the $1200 Yamaha 1800 which has HDMI 1.3.
Will I even notice a different if I only used 1080p instead of 1080p24? I will do tests but I am betting my eyes will not notice. However my brain may bug me if I only send a 1080p signal to my TV knowing my TV is not getting the purest signal it possibly can.
