I've got approximately 150' of RG6 run between my dish and receiver (DTC100) and had a Channelmaster 20db in line amp.

I found that the amp doesn't allow the receiver to switch to the 119. The 101 is fine, but when I try to access Hdnet..nothing.

So I removed the amp and it works fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, would a powered amp work differently?

I have the same set-up and difficulty in getting the 119 sat to display. My installer said it was because of the in-line preamp. Try this workaround: First try to tune in channel 199. Then tune in channel 356. Then push "Last" on the remote (which will return to ch. 199). Ch. 199 should then lock on.

Good luck.:)

If your run is only 150 ft., you should not need an amp. Also try putting the amp between the switch and the LNB rather than between the switch and the receiver. The amp may not be able to pass the 22 KHz switching signal.
