Hi all, I have a HT and using this APC power bar to plug everything into it. the wall outlet is 15 amp. this power bar has a yellow light to indicate when the unit is loaded above 12 amps. The light turns on even if just my PC is plugged in and the PC is turned off. Does that make sense?

I'm going to talk to APC on tuesday. Someone told me power bars wear out over time and should be replaced. Is that true?

That doesn't mean anything. Are you suggesting you think your PC uses 12 amps (1440 watts) just being plugged in? What do you think is more likely, the PC uses 1440 watts just being plugged in or the APC is defective?

I talked to APC tech support and he said the surge protector is detecting some voltage coming from the PC. I unplugged that PC and plugged in a laptop which was turned off and the light didn't come on.
