120" Plasma....HP or SS and 2000+ lumen PJ, Can there be too Bright?

I really want a 120" plasma! I am wondering if anyone has tried a high lumen projector rated above 2000 lumens with a high gain screen such as the High Power or the SilverStar? I am more interested in this for watching HD sports and things with some indirect light in the room. I could then tone the projector down for dark viewing and maybe even use an ND filter if need be.

The new Mitsubishi WD2000U has peaked my interest which is rated at 3000 lumens. Based on some reviews of the HD4000U I figure the WD2000U will be capable of about 1500-1600 ansi lumens in low bulb mode. However when optimized for contrast I would expect something between 700 and 900 ansi lumens.

Any thoughts? Is this over the top bright?

Thanks,

Dan

I am sure that would be a fantastic match but I am not willing to spend $4000+ on a 120" Mirage.

Maybe the prices will come down, if it were around $2K I would think about it.....but just not sure I need that honestly.
Yeah I feel the same. It's an interesting technology to look for in the future maybe.
